Our Work
The Irish Association of Feline Medicine (IAFM) is dedicated to promoting the health and wellbeing of our feline friends. As veterinary professionals, we understand the unique needs of cats and are committed to providing the best possible care for them.
Our team of veterinary professionals are highly trained and have a deep passion for feline medicine, welfare, and behavior. We are committed to promoting the health and well-being of cats by providing
advice, education and guidance to likeminded veterinary professionals in Ireland. As the only organization in Ireland focused solely on feline medicine, we are proud to provide this service to the veterinary community.

As veterinary professionals (and in many of our cases cat owners), you want the absolute best standard of care for your feline patients. From their health and well-being to their behavior and happiness, every aspect of their life is important, in and out of the veterinary clinic. That's where the IAFM comes in, providing guidance, education and advice to veterinary professionals about the highest standards of feline care.

IAFM's Inaugral CPD event- 13th of February 2025
We had our inaugral CPD webinar event on 13th February 2025, in association with MSD animal health Ireland.
Our committee member Clare Meade spoke about her top tips for feline medicine. She spoke about some of the important basics of feline veterinary including pre-pubertal neutering, tailored vaccination programmes and about litter tray management. Followed by an interactive Q&A session.
Thank you to everyone who tuned in and made our first CPD event a great success. Watch this space for our next event!
ISFM Congress 2024 and ISFM National Partners Meeting

Representatives from our team attended the ISFM congress 2024 in Malta. This is a yearly event where invaluable feline information is shared amongst colleagues.
This years focus was all on the eyes, "Eyes are the window to the soul". Over 500 feline friendly veterinary colleagues from all over the world attended this event.

The ISFM National Partners, including IAFM, met again this year in Malta at the ISFM annual Congress.
More than 20 representatives from over 20 National Partner countries attended. They discussed their concerns about welfare issues associated with certain cat breeds and their prevalence in different countries. This meeting was a great example of cooperation between international and national organisations.
The ISFM National Partners, including IAFM, play a key role in the information exchange necessary for a collaborative veterinary approach to feline welfare.
23 representatives also contributed to the Congress with abstracts, demonstrating their advanced knowledge and interest in the field of feline medicine.
