About Us

The Irish Association of Feline Medicine (IAFM) is a dedicated group of veterinary professionals who are passionate about the health, welfare, and behavior of cats. We are committed to promoting the highest standards of feline medicine and providing education and support to our fellow veterinary professionals. Our members have all completed additional qualifications in feline medicine, nursing, and behavior, and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our organization. Through our work, we strive to improve the lives of cats and their owners, and to advance the field of feline medicine in Ireland.

The Irish Association of Feline Medicine's mission is to promote the highest standards of feline medicine, welfare and behaviour of cats in Ireland through providing advice, education and guidance to veterinary professionals.

We believe that every cat matters, whether a feral, stray or pet cat.

The Irish Association of Feline Medicine (IAFM) is a national partner of the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM). It was founded in 2023 by a group of veterinary professionals, Clare Meade, Aoibhinn Naughton and Aisling O'Keeffe, who saw a need for a dedicated organisation focused on feline medicine, welfare and behaviour in Ireland. Over the coming years, IAFM hopes to include members from all over the country, including veterinarians, veterinary nurses, and other professionals working with cats.
